LAB TECHNOLOGIES:

TIME-LAPSE IMAGING

Embryoscope

Time-lapse embryo imaging for improved reproductive outcomes

Selection of embryos for transfer is a crucial step in the IVF procedure which in turn relates to the success of your treatment. The time-lapse embryo monitoring system allows us to monitor embryos through the full course of their development. They are specially designed incubators with a built-in camera, taking images of growing embryos every 10 minutes. These advanced techniques help the embryologist select the healthier embryos, with lower risk of defects and/or greater potential of implantation.

This technology has significantly increased the success rates of Assisted Reproductive Treatments worldwide.

RI Witness

RI Witness is a dedicated electronic system that automates the identification of samples, removing any chance of potential human error, and crosschecking samples through magnetized identification tags.

RI Witness uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags to lock the patient’s identity to their sperm, eggs and embryos from the beginning of the cycle and at every stage of processing.

Every work area in each of our Laboratories is fitted with the RI Witness system, which detects wireless signals from these tags. Using the RFID tags, the RI Witness system then continuously validates the identity of the samples within the work area, and alerts the user to possible mismatches, before they can occur, improving the accuracy and efficiency of producing witnessing, traceability, productivity and operator audits.

Intra-Cytoplasmic Morphologically-Selected Sperm Injection (IMSI)

Intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI) is a technique used in IVF treatment to examine and select sperm using a high-magnification digital imaging microscope for microinjection into the egg.

Using digital high-magnification, IMSI enables the embryologist to magnify sperm up to 6000 times in comparison to the standard magnification of 400 times. By increasing the magnification, embryologists are able to increase the rate of fertilization by selecting the sperm with the best morphology—one indication of the best sperm quality. Studies have found that IMSI improves the success of IVF-ICSI.
