Abu Dhabi, UAE: As part of its commitment to quality, transparency and better patient care, HealthPlus announces the clinical outcomes and success rates for its Fertility Center. Led by renowned IVF Consultant Dr. Walid Sayed, HealthPlus Fertility Center has achieved a Pregnancy rate of 42% for In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) cases for women below 35 years of age performed in 2011. The overall results are slightly above the international pregnancy rates reported in several publications including the ‘Human Fertilization & Embryology Authority’ of UK for 2010, marking HealthPlus as true leaders in the field of fertility and assisted reproduction. HealthPlus Fertility Center is part of a network of premium outpatient centers owned and managed by United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical).
“Sharing clinical outcomes with the public is not a mandatory requirement. We have decided to do so as part of our commitment to transparency and better patient care. There is much to be gained by sharing such information and I am glad to see HealthPlus Fertility Center taking the lead,” said Mr. Majd Abu Zant, CEO of HealthPlus.
“The presence of a world-class fertility center such as HealthPlus in the UAE will reduce the need for couples to travel abroad for such treatments as they can now expect similar results here in Abu Dhabi, without the associated physical and financial burden of oversees treatments,” added Mr. Abu Zant.
HealthPlus Fertility Center is the only independent, free-standing facility of its kind in Abu Dhabi, and amongst the first to open in the UAE following the new Ministry of Health Standards, regulating fertility centers. It provides a full range of state-of-the-art services for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility including In-vitro Fertilization, reproductive surgery as well as several effective treatments for male fertility. Most surgical treatments for infertility are performed on-site on an outpatient basis with minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
“Infertility can be a very stressful and delicate matter that can impact a couple’s life tremendously; hence, patients at HealthPlus are seen in a caring environment, where the major emphasis is not only on technological excellence, but also on personal attention, and emotional support. As the results have indicated during our first few months of operations, we are pleased that we are able to provide highly effective solutions to an increasing problem,” said Dr. Walid Sayed, HealthPlus Fertility Center’s Medical Director. “Out of more than 400 cases treated approximately 140 have resulted in pregnancies in nine months only, achieving an overall success rate for all ages comparable to international standards, which is testament to the dedication and skill of our team. Many of the couples seen had suffered multiple IVF treatment failures elsewhere. Moreover, more than 50% of female patients were above the age of 35. Considering the high number of complex cases and the mature age of many of our patients makes the success rates even more remarkable.”
Dr. Walid Sayed further stated, “With the mercy of Allah and our team efforts we have been blessed with the opportunity of bringing renewed hope to the couples who have been blessed with more than 65 healthy babies delivered during January and February 2012, and who have been followed up in our Women’s Health Center after the IVF procedure result was positive.”
HealthPlus will be organizing an event to celebrate the recent birth of the 65 babies with their parents on the 5th of March 2012 at the Fertility Center in Abu Dhabi.
